About Seniors Helping Seniors UK

Seniors Helping Seniors®  is a profit with purpose organisation, we are social entrepreneurs and we are the proud winners of multiple awards for the social impact of our business.  Improving the lives of others is the core of everything we do. We change how “seniors” are treated and we change expectations.

This is not business as usual, this is business how it should be!

Christian Wilse, Master License owner of Seniors Helping Seniors® home care, manages this exceptional service with his wife Sally, throughout the East and Southeast of England.  The in-home care service helps seniors and their families by offering compassionate, loving care from fellow seniors.

Seniors Helping Seniors® non-medical, in-home care has been matching seniors who need help with seniors who want to help, for more than 18 years with outstanding success. Peer-to-peer assistance allows seniors in need to receive care from someone who they can trust and relate to. Unique standards of care come from one person who does not have time pressures and enjoys the work they do.   Seniors Helping Seniors® is very different to passive care, it’s about self esteem, getting the work done to the highest standard, giving peace of mind, restoring confidence, participation, having fun and great value for money.

By enabling Seniors to provide care, it is helping Seniors to remain active and fulfilled members of their community and supplement their income at the same time which is a great thing for the entire country.

For over 30 years, Christian has been a successful and innovative international businessman. While he has enjoyed his career, Christian felt he could do more. “Making money was never a big enough driver for me” shares Christian. “I have loved my work in business so far, but I am driven to do more, to give back, to do good and have a real purpose. Seniors Helping Seniors® in-home services is my way to support our older community members to ensure they have fulfilling and satisfying lives.”  “In a way, you can describe it as a calling” he says.

Christian turned his business and community building skills into action by opening the first Seniors Helping Seniors® in-home care service in Kent in 2013. More locations in UK are coming in 2016, and this is when our experience will pay off. Our straight forward, honourable and joyful approach to ageing is refreshing and rewarding and the social impact of our business is so fulfilling.  It is everything I could have hoped for.  The potential is fantastic and we are in the right place at Christian Wilse, Seniors Helping Seniors 1024the right time, with some amazing partnerships behind us.

Christian was born in Norway and raised in Sweden. After meeting his wife, Sally, he moved to the UK in 1990, which he has called home ever since. Christian loves his community and he has worked for charity, the football league, and film and broadcast technology and software.  Rolling out business concepts that work is his skill.  He loves running a sustainable business that truly changes the care industry. Helping seniors support themselves and be happy is simply the right thing to do.

Sally was born in Kent and has a BSc in Health care. She has worked more than 25 years in Publishing and PR/Marketing and is skilled in Big Data collection. “Seniors Helping Seniors® was a life changing experience for us” she says “it’s rewarding and challenging, and you can really feel that we are making an impact on social perceptions”

“Our seniors have so much to offer each other and the community,” says Christian. “They are the Victory generation.  The Rock n’ Roll generation. They saw the Beatles, Led Zeppelin and the Rolling Stones from the very beginning, not forgetting all sporting legends, political and economic change. Joy and strength comes from receiving care from people who are fascinated by the same things in life.

Seniors helping Seniors® home care has hundreds of cases where family members say the hours spent in our company literally changed lives. Seniors Helping Seniors® home care gives families and their loved ones the chance to feel confident that they are not only receiving the best care possible, but they will be enjoying themselves in the process.”

Seniors Helping Seniors®  has over 250 successful businesses and it’s been running for over 18 years. We established UK operations in 2013 and it’s expanding.  We are excited to help other people make use of their business skills and passion to really help change the way people age in this country. By starting operations in their own local area under the guidance of Christian, the right people have an opportunity to make sustainable profitable business they can be proud of.   Kiran Yocom founded the organisation in 1998 in America; she has a mission and a passion to help seniors live independently. She leads the organisation through compassion and caring for all.

• The mission of Seniors Helping Seniors® In-home Services :
To provide seniors with the ability to choose an independent lifestyle in their own homes, for as long as possible, with the    dignity and respect they deserve by finding caring seniors to help each other.
• For seniors who are retired and would like to continue to contribute to their community and stay active, as well as supplement their income, we find other seniors who want to receive services. Seniors who want to maintain an independent lifestyle in their homes can get the help they are looking for at reasonable rates and are helping seniors in their community stay active. It is a win-win …a way to give and to receive®.

• The goal of Seniors Helping Seniors® In-home Services:  To match seniors who can provide a service in the community to other seniors who would benefit from receiving those services. The character of the seniors both providing and receiving services is key to ensure the safety and security of all. We do our best to match personalities and activity levels to encourage a strong friendship that is developed as seniors complete various activities throughout the day… together.
