Considering Home Care for a Loved One?

Having a caring, and dedicated company by the side of someone you love can make all the difference to your life.  We offer peace of mind. we offer practical help.  We offer local knowledge and the skills needed.

Seniors Helping Seniors change people’s lives for the better. Everyday, people like you, who care about an ageing family member or friend, find their way to Seniors Helping Seniors  for reasonably priced support services from caring, compassionate carers for the home help you want, at a price you can afford.  We can reduce your worry by checking in on your parents.  We can  help out with short check-ins, personal care visits to get people up and ready for their day, and safely back in bed at night.  We never rush personal care and clients can enjoy getting a few jobs done by people they know and trust at the same time.  When clients can take care of their own personal care, Companion carers visit for an hour or   2 – 3 hours at a time for visits which include housework, checking the fridge, shopping, preparing fresh and nutritious meals, changing beds and outings.

Our services are ideal for respite and providing time off for family carers.   The same carers visit and you are assured that we will come punctually at the times you need us to come.

Seniors Helping Seniors is especially helpful after an injury, rehabilitation or preparing for a hospital stay.  We will do the bending, reaching and lifting.  We can help build confidence. We help monitor care plans.  We have local experience of where to go and what services to use and we take care of practicalities.

We know that it can very hard to take the first step into “care”.  Difficulties can arise because of your own expectations or because the person you love isn’t on board.  Either way, we can help.

We are different from other care companies.  We know that it’s so much easier for an older adult to receive help when it’s offered from someone they can relate to and doesn’t “feel like a carer”.

Seniors Helping Seniors  care and support is there for you every step of the way. We’ll update you on our visits, provide  feedback on progress – anything you need for  peace of mind.

We can relieve you of the overwhelming responsibility of day-to-day chores and organisation and give you back what you value most – the knowledge that your loved one has added joy, companionship and security to his or her life.

Not Sure if you could use a Helping Hand Caring for Your Loved One?

We’ve found that many people who regularly provide care to loved ones can lose sight of their own well-being, and often feel overwhelmed.

The best way to secure the care you provide is to take steps to look after yourself before you think you need help.  An hour or so “off,” doing things that refresh you is easy to set up.

You’ll have peace of mind that your loved one is spending time with someone you have previously approved. They will get on well and feel as refreshed as you are when you get home again!

Testimonials

"We have been using the services of Seniors Helping Seniors for over 4 years and have been really pleased with the care and attention the team have always given to Mum. Nothing has ever been too much trouble and the team have often gone above and beyond to ensure that Mum was comfortable in her own home for as long as possible.

They often shared lots of laughs and fun times as well as caring for her emotional and physical needs and it always left us reassured that she was in the best of hands.

They are a very flexible team and always willing to help out when additional support was required putting the needs of Mum first. A special thanks to Eileen and Simone who have been on the journey with Mum and become more than a companion to her, they have become good friends. A very caring exceptional company. "

"Our Mum is suffering from severe dementia and although we take on a lot of the care ourselves, we needed some extra help in the afternoons.

The care from SHS has been outstanding. All the carers have been great with Mum, taking her for a drive, a cup of tea and a piece of cake when able which is her favourite thing to do. We have received photo’s of Mum from the carers of Mum while she is out and she always looks so happy. She can’t wait to go with them! Teresa provided Mum with a photo book at Christmas – such a lovely thing to do and Mum treasures this.

Tina has been great also - always there to help co-ordinate and offer support. We really cannot fault the care received. We know Mum is in safe hands and Dad can have a rest while she is out. Highly recommended! Joanna, Karen and Nicola"
